Driving Lessons in Fanshawe College Area

The Fanshawe College area sits on London’s east side along Oxford Street East, where city traffic starts to thin out toward more rural-feeling roads. It’s a useful contrast neighbourhood: campus entrances and surrounding plazas give plenty of low-speed parking-lot practice, while Oxford Street East itself carries steady commuter and commercial traffic, including larger trucks serving nearby industrial areas.

Class-change periods bring concentrated pedestrian crossings near the main campus entrances, similar to the university area but generally with less cyclist traffic. Surrounding residential streets in Argyle and the east end are typically wider and calmer, making this a solid area for students still building basic confidence before tackling Oxford Street itself.

Further east, roads begin to open up with higher speed limits and fewer traffic controls — a reasonable stepping stone toward full highway driving once a student is comfortable with In-city traffic. Winter conditions can also arrive a little harder on these more open, wind-exposed stretches than in denser parts of the city.
